Hygiene Kits for Haiti

Thank you to everyone who responded to the request to help provide hygiene kits in the wake of the earthquake in Haiti.  On Sunday, February 7th our children and youth put together 52 kits to be delivered to Church World Service.

Church World Service Hygiene Kits for Haiti

First Baptist Church is gathering supplies for the Church World Service Hygiene Kits. We will be collecting until Sunday, February 7th. Please take a look at the items below and if you would like to donate a few items or enough for a couple kits, please do so! Please place your items in the box located outside the Chapel!

Items for the Church World Service Hygiene Kits

Operation Christmas Child

This program of Samaritan’s Purse provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on mission project—to fill a shoe box with gifts geared to various children’s ages. When filling up the shoe box, please remember to include $7 to cover the cost of shipping. Please wrap the box cover and bottom, place unwrapped items in the box (along with the money and/or check made out to Samaritan’s Purse), and place in the Narthex. If you can’t get a box together but still want to contribute, cash donations are greatly appreciated.

Blankets, Towels and Comforters Needed

The Mission Board is collecting blankets, towels, and comforters for refugees. The warehouse of InterFaith Works of CNY is quickly becoming empty and they desperately need our help! Please place these new or gently-used items in the bin in the Narthex marked “Refugees.” If you have a sofa you would like to donate, please call Neil at InterFaith Works (474-1261 ext. 220), and he will pick this up for you.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. This program of Samaritan's Purse provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on mission project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.

Shoes for Haiti

Ann Morales continues to collect used shoes, sandals and sneakers to send to Limbe, Haiti. On June 3rd she mailed a shipment of 22 boxes (265 pounds).

Ann worked as a nurse at a mission hospital in Limbe in 1972-1973. Belle,
a co-worker in Haiti, and her husband started this mission of delivering used shoes to the people in Limbe. Ann has collected these since 1995. Over that time her shipments have totaled 3,100 pounds.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Ann in this wonderful mission.
