We provide a play-based program while making systematic efforts to promote the learning of academic and social skills.
Program
- Monday through Friday - 9:00am until 12:00pm
- Kindergarten Enrichment 12:00-3:00pm
- Tuesday/Thursday: 3 year old program.
- Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 4 & 5 yr olds or
- Monday-Friday for 4 & 5 yr olds by 12/1: accelerated program
- Music is offered on Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Gymnasium or playground occurs daily.
- Kindergarten Enrichment Program offered for 5 year olds on M/W/F; Busing from Fayetteville-Manlius schools is available for Kindergarteners.
Tuition is due at the first class of each month and is divided into nine equal installments beginning in September and ending in May. Prices are on a monthly basis. (prices subject to change): 2 days-$105 /m; 3 days-$150/m; 5 days-$215/m A $50 yearly registration fee is also applicable.
Our program promotes independence, group and personal responsibility. We offer a warm and nurturing atmosphere where the children are taught to be respectful of themselves and others, as well as the materials and playthings they interact with each day.
We take several field trips throughout the school year. The fire station, pumpkin pickin', the Senior Citizens Center during the Thanksgiving holiday, the Civic Center , the fish hatchery and the MOST are some of the places Playschool children have explored and experienced.
Playschool Director - Wendy Mapstone
Wendy Mapstone was raised in Meredith, NH and has been working with children since she was 15 as camp counselor. She attended Nazareth College in Rochester for Art/Elementary education and holds a Master's Degree in Reading from SUNY Cortland. She began the Playschool Program in 1996 with 8 enrolled children as a way to be with her own two children through their preschool experience. Today there are 75 children enrolled in Playschool divided between the preschool and Kindergarten Enrichment program. Wendy says she is, "... always very much amazed at how different each of their minds work and how much they have to offer and contribute. To witness and be a part of their achievements is a great gift."

Register now for Fall 2010. Great class sizes- 12:2 for 4-5 year olds and 10:2 for 3 year olds. We have a full size gym and great fenced in playground. Music weekly and energetic fun staff teaching your children Kindergarten readiness material.
Playschool Objectives
- To foster the children's desire to learn, to investigate, to try new things and explore their environment while promoting self-awareness.
- To expose children to an educational theme-based literature program that promotes the discovery and fun of reading.
- To provide a warm and nurturing Christian atmosphere that will aim to educate the whole childhead, hands and heart.
